Atelier Pilates
Pilates Limousin was the first organisation to set up a studio for the teaching of Pilates in this area of France. The new studio in Chalus, "Atelier Pilates" is a light, spacious and well equipped studio with changing facilities.
It is situated in rue Gourdon just below the tower in the centre of town. There is easy access from the rue Nationale or from the Place de la Fontaine. Parking can be found nearby and in adjacent streets.
The courses provide a gentle yet demanding weekly workout for beginners and for intermediates with more experience. There is a men-only class. Some classes are taught only in French.
The exercises are performed in different positions and help each individual connect with their own body to strengthen and stabilise parts of the body while stretching and flexing others.
Most classes use mats, bands and pillows but increasingly other equipment such as balls, weights, magic circles and rollers add a new dimension to exercise.
The Allegro Reformer (a modern portable version of Joseph Pilates Reformer machine) is available for those who have completed a Reformer Introduction course.
